The Parkinson's Disease Society (PDS) is the UK's only charity that exists to support people living with Parkinson's and it aims to be one of the leading authorities on the condition. The Society has 28,000 members who live with Parkinson's, as someone with the condition or as a friend, family member or carer. The PDS campaigns for a better quality of life for people with Parkinson's and it invests some £2million each year on a wide range of vital medical and welfare research projects. The PDS has nearly 300 branches across the UK and a network of field staff and welfare officers and it funds Parkinson's Disease Nurse Specialists and has a national helpline.

The Art for Parkinson's website, the work exhibited on it and the Catalyst exhibition celebrate the ability of people with Parkinson's disease to confront the limitations set by debilitating illness and explore the possibilities offered by the creative arts. Art for Parkinson's also acknowledges the pivotal role of facilitators, voluntary helpers and funding bodies that have enabled people's lives to change for the better through their artwork.
To people with Parkinson's and their carers who have supported Art for Parkinson's programmes with courage and enthusiasm and without whom this project could not have taken place.
Special thanks go to: All those who have allowed their work to be exhibited, Juliet Kirk and Che Sutherland at the Parkinson's Disease Society Create It team, Rosemary Williams of the Penny Street Gallery, Kingston, Hernan Huergo (Web wizard) Alison Lloyd, Barbara Thompson MBE, Sebastian Peake, Jenna Phillips (Graphic Design)
